Zap...I almost died.

As you know, our goal is to win 1,000,000 people to Jesus every year.  Several years ago, I was in the country of Jamaica swimming in a pool when I noticed smoke coming from a panel on the edge of the pool. Stupidly, I swam over to investigate. ZAP! An underwater light shocked me. I pulled myself out and limped away thanking God I had not been killed.

Suddenly, I remembered that all my friends were still in the water. I started yelling at them to get out. Some of them thought it was a practical joke, but I was so concerned for their safety that I refused to give up until I had saved everyone’s life. God spoke to me, “Daniel, I want you to save people from hell with the same passion you saved your friends from the pool.”

My experience in the pool illustrates an important principle of Christianity. Once God saves us, we have a choice, do we just walk away thanking God, or do we go back to save others who are still in a dangerous situation? That day I made a RESOLUTION TO BE A SOUL WINNER!

We pray that you will MAKE A RESOLUTION to win souls in your neighborhood, in your workplace, in your family, in your city, and around the world. Thank you for doing your part in bringing the world to Jesus.

3 Facts About Soul Winning

Fact #1: The greatest treasure in heaven is a soul. Why are souls so precious to God? God can create anything He wants by speaking a word - except for a soul who loves Him. God has paid an immeasurably high price for each soul - the blood of Jesus! No other commodity in the universe has ever commanded such a high purchase price.

Fact #2: The greatest treasure in hell is a soul. The only way for Satan to hurt God is by stealing a soul. This means the only way you or I can harm Satans kingdom is by leading a soul to Christ.

Fact #3: The greatest treasure on earth is a soul. The best gift you can give God is your soul. The second best gift you can give God is someone elses soul. When you arrive in heaven, you will be judged based on the condition of your soul, but you will be rewarded based on how many souls you bring to heaven with you.

In the hustle and bustle of life, we place great value on money, cars, and houses, but when the Father looks down from heaven, all He cares about are people.  You cannot take money or possessions with you to heaven. The only way to trade earthly treasure for heavenly treasure is by winning souls.

Giving money towards soul winning is the greatest investment you can make. It is the only investment where a finite amount produces an infinite return. ...He who wins souls is wise (Proverbs 11:30).

When you partner with us, you are partnering with soul winners. Every seed you plant into King Ministries will be used to bring people to Jesus. Thank you for helping us take the gospel to people around the world.

What you don't know...

You have probably heard the phrase, "What you don't know can't hurt you."

Recently, Jessica and I were driving when we heard someone say this phrase on the radio.

Jessica turned to me and commented, “You know, that’s not true when it comes to the Gospel.”

“What do you mean?” I asked.

“If a woman in Africa does not know Jesus, and she dies, then her lack of knowledge will hurt her for all of eternity.”

“Jessica, that’s a tragic thought,” I said, “I’ve never heard that before.”

She continued, “If a man does not know Jesus is a Healer, then he continues to live with sickness in his body. If a family does not know that love, joy, and peace can be found in Jesus, then that family continues to live in strife.”

She finished by saying, “If people don’t know, they can’t believe.”

What you don’t know…can hurt you!
Hosea 4:6 says, “People are destroyed for lack of knowledge.” It’s true. People who have not heard that Jesus saves are destined to an eternity in hell. This fact is a great tragedy but at the same time it creates a great urgency in my heart. If I do not go preach the Gospel, who will?

In North America, there are many opportunities for people to hear about Jesus, but in some parts of the world, the Gospel has barely penetrated. Oswald J. Smith, a Canadian pastor said, "No one has the right to hear the Gospel twice, while there remains someone who has not heard it once." This is why it is so vital for you to send us to the least reached parts of the world. The world must hear about Jesus.

What about my father?
I am reminded of a tribal woman in Ethiopia who cried after she accepted Jesus as her Savior. She said, “This is wonderful news! I am so happy to learn about Jesus.” But she then asked a question, “My father died one month ago and he never had an opportunity to give his life to Jesus. What will happen to him?” Her question captures the urgency I feel today. For every person we reach, the Gospel is good news. But for those who don’t hear the Gospel, it is a tragedy. Carl F.H. Henry said, "The Gospel is only good news if it gets there in time."
Some have questioned God for allowing the lost to perish. But, God has done everything He needs to do in order for the entire world to be saved. God gave His Only Son as a sacrifice to make salvation available for all of humankind. Right before Jesus returned to heaven, He commanded all who follow Him to “preach the good news” (Mark 16:15). If someone has not heard the Gospel, the fault does not lie with God, the fault rests on the Church. It is our responsibility to take the good news of Jesus Christ to the world!

Charles Spurgeon wrote, "Someone asked, ‘Will the heathen who have never heard the Gospel be saved?’ It is more a question with me whether we, who have the Gospel and fail to give it to those who have not, can be saved." This puts the responsibility right back in our laps.
How can they know, unless we tell them?
God has chosen to use us, you and me, to take the Gospel to the world. “For whosoever shall call upon the Name of the Lord shall be saved. How then shall they call on Him in whom they have not believed? And how shall they believe in Him of whom they have not heard? And how shall they hear without a preacher? And how shall they preach, except they be sent?” (Romans 10:13-15). How many people are participants in this verse? Let’s count them.

1. The unsaved person who needs to hear.
2. Jesus, the One whose Name brings salvation for those who believe.
3. The preacher.
4. The person sending the preacher.

Who are these four people today? The world is full of unsaved people. Jesus is ready to save. Jessica and I are willing to go and preach the Gospel. You are the fourth person.
Jessica and I cannot preach to people unless we are sent. Who does the sending? You do! You see, without your help, we cannot go to those who desperately need to hear about Jesus.

Will you send us to the unsaved? Will you join with us to make a difference? Will you help us reach people who are dying and going to hell? Thank you for your faithful giving. Every time you give, you help us change an eternal destiny.

A Sad Witnessing Story

One time, I rode a shuttle from the airport to my hotel in Denver. The driver was a Pakistani man who has lived in the United States for ten years. His name is Raza. He is Muslim and I had an interesting conversation with him about the Muslim religion. Then, I talked to him about Jesus. I started by telling him what the Koran says about Jesus, then I proceeded to tell him what the Bible says about Jesus. For thirty minutes I presented the entire Gospel message to him. He was interested in what I had to say. I did not get a chance to pray with him, but I did encourage him to find a Bible and read it.

But, the saddest part of the whole encounter is that I asked him if any other Christian has ever talked to him about Jesus. He said, “No.” For ten years he has worked in the United States driving people to and from the airport in Denver, Colorado. In all that time, NO CHRISTIAN HAS EVER TALKED TO HIM ABOUT JESUS.

Witnessing in the Workplace

I just received an e-mail from someone who lost her job after giving her boss a slip of paper with a Bible verse on it. I am wondering how often this happens. Here are some questions:

1. Have you ever experienced negative consequences for sharing your Christian faith while at work?

2. Does your workplace have a policy directly against witnessing?

3. In Titus 2:9, Paul encourages servants to obey their masters which in modern times means employees should obey their employers. Jesus told us in Mark 16:15 to preach the Gospel to every person. Which instruction do you think is more important to follow?

4. Do you think there is a way to witness without disobeying your employer's rules?

5. Do you think it might be dishonest to use the time your employer pays you for to do something of a personal nature like witnessing?

6. Is it worth the chance of losing your job if you can rescue someone from hell?

7. Do you think Christians should share their faith in the workplace? How? When?

How would you minister to a pagan?

Every day we encounter people who have different belief systems. I believe there is a key to reaching each person. I always ask the Holy Spirit to show me how to minister to the people I run into. Sometimes I am able to lead someone to the Lord; often I fail. Today, I crashed and burned…

I met a man in the Atlanta airport today who is a self-proclaimed pagan. He was born a Baptist, but raised hell as a young man, now he is a girl’s volleyball coach. He is well read and has thought through his belief system. He does not believe there is a God who cares about him individually as a person, but he does believe in pagan fertility rites and Zen Buddhism.

His life philosophy comes from his volleyball coaching experience. He said, “Whoever gets the most playing time in life wins.” He said the point of life was to have fun, to play, to spend time in the game.

I shared my testimony with him and gave him a brief overview of the Gospel. He accused me of believing in a “closed-loop system.” He said that once I accepted “by faith” the existence of God and chose to believe the Bible, that I was closed to any other way of thinking. He said that my religion was no different than any other intolerant religion. After a few minutes of talking, he walked away to catch his flight.

My question is: How would you have ministered to him? What would you have said to bring him to Jesus?

Every Time a Person was Rescued from Danger, I saw Jesus Meet Him

Do you feel an urgency about leading people to Jesus? I still vividly remember a dream I had several years ago…YOU WILL BE INSPIRED by this dream to save people from hell. Here's what happened…

In my dream I was standing on the edge of a massive highway. It looked like sixteen lanes of traffic were flying by at breakneck speed. Out among the traffic, there were hundreds of people.
The people on the highway were ignoring the cars and going about their normal business. Some were goofing off. Girls gossiped and flirted with some guys playing basketball. One group set up a TV in the middle of a lane and played a video game. A collage kid was sitting on the ground intently studying a book. A young girl was quietly dancing to music on her headphones, facing away from the traffic and narrowly avoided being hit several times.

The people were oblivious to the traffic. From time to time, a car would zoom by at 90 mph and smash into someone. The body would flip through the air and land bloody and beaten up. Few of the people seemed to notice. Occasionally they would look at the body and weep for a moment, but they quickly went back to what they were doing.

I stood at the edge of the highway and yelled for the people to get off the road. I pleaded and implored them until my voice was hoarse. No one listened. They were as oblivious to me as they were to the traffic.

Next to me stood an angel. I asked him what was happening. He replied, "This generation is living in danger and they don't even know it. Many are dying and going to hell, but they are so captivated with the distractions of the world that they have no idea what danger they are facing." I asked, "What should I do?" The angel replied, "Rescue them."

I knew the angel meant I should go out on the highway and talk to them, but I was scared. The cars were going so fast that it looked impossible. But if I did not try, everyone on the road would eventually die.

I tentatively walked out to a teenage girl who was close to the edge of the road. I tapped her on the shoulder. I took the headphones out of her ears and began to talk to her. After I explained the danger she was in, suddenly she noticed the traffic, as if she had just woken up. Immediately, she rushed for the side of the road. As she stepped over the line that marked the edge of the road, I saw Jesus appear.  He greeted her with a hug and then she walked off hand-in-hand with Jesus.

Encouraged by this result, I ran from person to person telling them to get off the road. Some listened; others did not. I began to gather small crowds of people and talk to them. Sometimes whole groups would suddenly wake up, realize the danger and run for the side of the road. Other times, I would see someone at the edge of my crowd wander off only to be hit moments later by a speeding truck. A few argued vehemently that there were no speeding cars and despite my best efforts to show them the bloody bodies and to get them to see their peril, they denied there was any danger.

Every time a person was rescued from danger, I saw Jesus meet him and they walked off together.
Suddenly I woke from the dream. I sat up in bed with sweat pouring off my body.  Now years later, the dream is still fresh in my memory. I recall the horror I felt watching the people wander around in heavy traffic. I remember the joy I felt when I rescued someone.

The memory of this dream vividly reinforces my mission in life. I am called by God to rescue people from certain death and to give them eternal life.

You can help rescue people from danger! You can help lead people to Jesus!  Would you partner with us to save the lost? Your financial gifts allow us to rescue thousands of people from hell.

How to have a "Cell"vation Service

How to have a "Cell"vation Service

At Dr. Philip Goudeaux's church in Sacramento, California, God gave us a tremendous idea for leading people to Jesus. At our 2nd Annual Soul Winning Conference, we were taking people from the church out into the neighborhood, knocking on doors and witnessing.
One pastor knocked on a door and the man who answered the door explained that he was already a Christian but his son was not saved.  So the pastor asked, "Can I talk to your son?"  The man replied, "He's not here. He's in San Francisco." The pastor said, "Let's call him on your cell phone and talk to him about God right now." A few minutes later, over the cell phone, the pastor led the son to Jesus.
As we were rejoicing over this story, we had the idea of using our cell phones in the middle of a church service to lead people to Jesus. That night, we invited everyone in the audience to pull out their cell phones.  They lifted their cell phones in the air and we dedicated their cell phones as "gospel tools." We asked the Holy Spirit to give each person the name of someone to call who was ready to receive Jesus.
In order to remove the fear of not knowing what to say, we wrote a sample script and put it on the screens so everyone could see it. This is what the script said, "Hello, This is INSERT NAME and you've been on my heart. I want to let you know that I'm praying for you and I want to make real sure that you're going to heaven with me.  Would you pray this prayer with me?  Dear God in heaven I make Jesus the lord of my life.  I believe Jesus died on the cross to pay the price for my sins.  I believe Jesus rose from the dead and right now I give my life to Jesus Christ.  Amen." People flipped open their phones can began calling their friends and family. As soon as someone answered, they began reading the script.
We invited every person who led someone to the Lord on his or her cell phone to stand up and to come to the platform.  After about three or four minutes people began popping up and running to the platform, many of them were very emotional. They were crying, they were laughing, some of them were dancing, and we began to hear testimonies.
One woman ran up screaming, "My mother who I have been praying for for 20 years just gave her life to Jesus." Another man called his brother and his brother was in the middle of a fistfight with his wife and right there in the middle of the fist fight the brother gave his life to Jesus Christ.  One thirteen year old boy called five of his school friends and led all five of his friends to Jesus.  The man sitting next to us led two of his employees to Jesus. Aunts and uncles, brothers and sister, fathers and mothers, grandmas and grandpas, friends, and co-workers were saved. It was a divine move of the Holy Spirit.
At the first "cell"vation service in history, on Tuesday night, 195 people gave their lives to Jesus. On Thursday night, we held another "cell" vation service at Dr. Goudeaux's south campus and 232 people gave their lives to Jesus.  I tried it again the next Sunday at a small church in mid-California and that night 14 people gave their lives to Jesus from an audience of about 20 people.
Over and over again we've seen this idea work and I think this is a tremendous tool for churches to empower their congregation to be soul winners.  The problem with soul-winning is that most Christians don't actively lead others to Jesus.  They know they should look for opportunities to witness but it's very difficult for them to find those opportunities or really to feel comfortable leading people to Jesus.
In a corporate atmosphere it is much easier to step out of a comfort zone and witness. God gives a corporate anointing in the service for leading the lost to Christ.
Everyone has at least one or two people in their phone book who do not know Jesus.  It's worth giving them a call.  Many of the believers at our service led family members to Jesus. They had been praying for their family members for 20 years but had never given them the opportunity to really pray for salvation. They were praying for them but had never witnessed to them. In one night we turned an entire church into a church of soul winners. Many of the people who were present that night had never prayed a prayer of salvation with anyone before and for the first time they had the joy of introducing someone to God.
I think this is something that can be done in every single church, at least once a year. Churches should regularly have a "cell"vation service. The whole church can bring their rolodex, their business contacts, their phones and call everyone who needs salvation.
I think we will be amazed at the fruit that will come into the kingdom of God because of this idea. We called this a "cell" vation service then when we finished we had a "cell"abration, and then we really were joking about how we birthed a cell-ministry in the church.  It was off the hook.

3 Kinds of Missionaries

Jesus instructed His disciples, “Go into all the world and preach the Gospel to every person” (Mark 16:15). This verse known as the Great Commission, is not just a recommendation; it is a command to every believer. I think every Christian should be involved in taking the good news to the whole world.

So, how do you obey Christ’s command? I believe there are three ways you can be involved in missions. This simple saying captures the possibilities:

“Go and Say, or Stay and Pray, or help Pay the Way”

Let’s take a look at the three types of missionaries:

1. Foot-missionaries -“How beautiful are the feet of those who preach the Gospel” (Romans 10:15). A foot-missionary is anyone who leaves his or her comfortable home for the purpose of preaching the Gospel, either near at home or in a land far away.

A few days ago I returned home from preaching in Ethiopia. As soon as I landed, I headed to a pastor’s conference. When I arrived, I could not help but notice that all the pastors were wearing shoes that were shiny and beautiful. At first I was embarrassed because my shoes were still covered in mud and dust from the mission field. But, then I remembered this verse and I realized my shoes were covered in “gospel dust.”

The world needs more people who are willing to walk, run, drive, sail, or fly to go tell others about Jesus.

2. Knee-missionaries -“Pray that the Lord of the harvest would send out laborers into His harvest” (Matthew 9:38). A knee-missionary is anyone who spends time on his or her knees praying for people to be saved.

Last year, Jessica and I were preaching in Pakistan. On the final night of the festival, a car full of gunmen chased our car and fired a shot. At the same time, a church in the United States was prompted by God to pray for us. While we were in the midst of a dangerous situation, their prayers helped us escape unharmed. Until we reach heaven, we may never know how important our prayers are.

3. Hand-missionaries -Now you Philippians know also that in the beginning of the gospel, when I departed from Macedonia, no church shared with me concerning giving and receiving but you only. For even in Thessalonica you sent aid once and again for my necessities (Philippians 4:16). A hand-missionary is anyone who is willing to reach into his or her pocket and pull out funds to help send a missionary to preach the Gospel.

We believe there is a special anointing for businessmen and women who are called to help finance soul-winning. Our prayer for you is that God would bless everything you put your hands to. Even in the midst of economic recession, God wants to bless you so that you can be a blessing to others.

God has ordained a divine partnership between those who “give” and those who “go.” One cannot exist without the other. As a team we work together to reap an end-time harvest of souls. According to 1 Samuel 30:24, the reward will be the same for both the “givers” and the “goers.”

We are so thankful for you! Your generous giving is what allows us to go to the nations. We feel so privileged to work together with you to rescue people from hell and to lead them to heaven.
