Urgent Need in Belize

In the last few posts, I have been telling you about our upcoming outreach to the Central American nation of Belize. Our goal during this outreach is to communicate the Gospel to every person in the entire nation over a one-week period. This is the biggest outreach our ministry has ever organized and we cannot do it without your help. Let me share with you some of the various outreaches that will take place in July.

How to Reach a Nation for Jesus
Nine evangelists and over two hundred missionaries will be partnering with us during our outreach to Belize. We are invading the nation with an army of people who will demonstrate the love of Jesus in tangible ways. During our week of ministry we will be doing events in the nine major population centers in Belize. Here are some of the activities that are going on:

Children’s Fiesta – In Belize City we will hosting a two-day children’s festival. We expect over 5,000 children to attend. We will be sending buses to dozens of local villages and bringing the children together for fun and games and to hear the Gospel. For $100, you can sponsor a bus full of one hundred children.

Youth Concerts – Fifty percent of Belize is under the age of eighteen so we are attracting the youth by using music and extreme sports. For $5,000, you can sponsor renting a sound system that 15,000 young people can hear.

FREE Medical Exams – We have a team of twenty doctors and nurses who will offer free medical exams in the poorest neighborhoods of Belize City. $700,000 worth of medicine has been donated but we have to carry it down in our suitcases. For $70, you can sponsor the cost of shipping an extra suitcase full of medicine to Belize.

Food for the Hungry – Thanks to the generosity of our partners, a forty-foot shipping container full of donated food has been placed on a ship and is on its way to Belize right now. We will be giving away over 270,000 meals to the children of Belize. If you want to be a part of this food distribution, your gift of $30 feeds 1,000 children.

Business Leaders and Political Leader’s Seminar – We are inviting the top business leaders in the country together for a leadership seminar at one of the nicest hotels in Belize. Successful American business leaders will share principles of business success and at the end of the seminar; we will share the greatest secret of success, which is to serve Jesus Christ. You can sponsor a business leader to attend the event for $25.

Pastor’s Dinner – On our first night in Belize, we will gather the pastors together for a banquet. Our team will serve food to every pastor and pray for them. We will also be giving each pastor a box full of commentaries and study books. Your gift of $20 feeds a pastor and his wife.

Television and Radio – God has given us the opportunity to air our entire outreach on LIVE television across the nation of Belize. Your gift of $1,250 will sponsor the cost of hiring a television crew and pay for airtime across the nation of Belize.

Follow-Up Material – Over 30,000 Bibles have been donated and follow-up material is ready for us to give away to the people who get saved at all of our events in Belize. Your gift of $2 will sponsor one bag of discipleship material for a new believer.

If you add up the costs of the Belize Festival of Hope, you can see that doing an outreach of this magnitude requires a huge amount of resources. But, this investment will be worthwhile if we can change the trajectory of an entire nation. We expect thousands of people to be saved! We believe that Belize will never be the same again. We are claiming the nation of Belize for the kingdom of God.

We cannot do this outreach alone. We need your help. Please allow the Lord to speak to you. What part of the outreach do you want to be a part of? Can you sponsor one hundred children to come to the Kid’s Fiesta? Or could you sponsor a businessman or woman to come to the Leadership Seminar? Or perhaps you could sponsor the television outreach? Please participate in whichever area God puts on your heart.

Touching Nations,

Daniel King

P.S. As you read this letter, I will be in Belize preparing for the outreach. Your financial gift this month will allow us to change lives for eternity in the nation of Belize. Thank you for your generosity!   Click HERE to GIVE

Saying Thank-You to Luis Palau

In 1997, I was given the opportunity to be a clown at a Kid's Fest for Luis Palau in Juarez, Mexico. Today, I was able to say thank you to Brother Luis for his inspiration and his example.
I wrote Dr. Palau a letter that says, "In 1997, you did a Festival in Juarez, Mexico. At that time, my parents were missionaries in Juarez and my father was involved in helping to mobilize churches for the festival. Back then, my brother and I dressed up as clowns and did small children's festivals in the barrios of Juarez. We were just teenagers, but we were invited to minister at your Kid’s Fest for thirty minutes. Over 7,000 children attended. It was the biggest crowd I had ever been in front of. Thousands of children responded to the Gospel.
It was this opportunity to minister that helped put a dream in my heart to become an evangelist. Since then, I have visited 69 nations and led over two million people in a salvation prayer, but it all started at a Luis Palau Kid's Fest in Juarez, Mexico.
Now, I am a member of the Next Generation Alliance. I am thankful for your example, your encouragement, and for the way you give other evangelists opportunities to minister, even when they are teenage juggling evangelists who wear clown makeup."
If you are an evangelist and you want to connect with Dr. Luis Palau's ministry, I encourage you to join the Next Generation Alliance.

Please Pray for Belize

The biggest outreach our ministry has ever done is rapidly approaching. On July 22, we will endeavor to reach an entire nation with the Gospel at the Belize Festival of Hope. We have been working on this project for over two years now and in my letters over the last few months, I have been telling you about many of the details of this historic event.

I just returned from a two-week set-up trip to Belize. On this trip I traveled to cities all over Belize in order to meet with pastors, organize publicity teams, arrange places for all of our team members to stay, and to do television and radio appearances on the biggest media stations in the country. There is tremendous excitement among the local churches and the entire country is starting to talk about what is coming. Based on what people are saying, this is going to be the biggest evangelistic event in the history of Belize.

GOOD NEWS: Our food container with over 270,000 meals for the children of Belize has arrived in country. Plus, our book container with 30,000 Bibles made it through the port and is standing ready.

Can You Help?
One of my friends asked me a couple of days ago, “What can I do to help you reach Belize with the Gospel?” I replied, “All the ground work has been completed, now the best thing you can do to help us is PRAY.”

I know that nothing can succeed without God’s help. At this point, I am asking all of my friends to help me bathe the Belize Festival of Hope in prayer. Can you join us in this effort? You may not be going with us to Belize, but your prayers will help us lead people to Jesus.

Prayer for Belize
Here are some prayer points for you as you join us in this effort to impact an entire nation for Jesus.

* Pray for July 22, 2017 - the day of the Belize Festival of Hope. “Can a nation be saved in a day?” (Isaiah 66:8).

*  Pray for Dean Barrow, the Prime Minister of Belize. Pray for all the Cabinet Members. Pray for the National Assembly of Belize. Pray for all the members of the House of Representatives and the Senate. Your missionary,

Daniel King

The People of Belize

This summer we are endeavoring to reach the entire nation of Belize with the Gospel. Would you join me in praying for the people of this Central American nation?

Belize is located south of Mexico and next to Guatemala. Belize is a unique country. It was originally called British Honduras until they gained their independence in 1981. To this day, it is part of the British Commonwealth and Queen Elizabeth’s portrait is on their currency. It is the only country in Central America where English is the official language.

Belize is a small country. According to the CIA Factbook, the population was 353,858 in 2016. The size of this nation is part of the reason we believe we can reach the entire nation with the Gospel in one day.

For centuries, Belize was the center of the Mayan civilization and Mayan ruins can be found all over the country. In the 1700’s and 1800’s, Belize was a refuge for pirates and buccaneers. They hid behind the reef and sailed out to prey on merchant ships. Today, Belize is a popular stop for cruise ships and tourists.

There are several unique language groups and cultures in Belize.

The people who speak Creole: Belize feels like a Caribbean nation because many of the people in Belize are dark-skinned and love Reggae music. About half of the people in Belize speak English mixed with a version of Creole.

The people who speak Spanish: Belize also has a Hispanic flavor. Because of its proximity to the Spanish-speaking nations of Central America, the other half of the nation speaks Spanish. If Guatemala and Jamaica married and had a baby, they would name it Belize.

The Garifuna people: It is said that this people group descended from a slave ship that shipwrecked off the coast of Belize. The slaves escaped and swam to shore. They still speak a unique dialect that has been traced back to a tribe in modern day Sierra Leone. Many of the Garifuna people go to church on Sunday, but mix African tribal religions with Christianity. Pray for an end to syncretism and black magic.

The Maya people: In the south of Belize there are seventy-two Mayan villages. Some of the villages speak Kekchi Mayan and some speak Mopan Mayan. The villagers are very poor. They cook over campfires and hunt in the jungle for food. Pray for God to prosper the Maya people.

The Mennonite people: Originally, they come from Dutch and German backgrounds. For religious reasons, many of them refuse to use modern technology. Often they are seen on the roads of Belize driving a horse and wagon full of watermelons to sell at the market. They speak Plautditsch, a form of Low German. Pray for an end to religious legalism and a revelation of God’s grace to come to these people.

The Chinese people: There are about 10,000 Chinese immigrants who have settled in Belize. I saw a Shen Restaurant and a Shen Market. My wife Jessica’s maiden name is Shen. Of all the Chinese last names, Shen is uncommon and people with this family name come from one particular village area in mainland China. I am wondering if my wife is distantly related to some of the Chinese in Belize. Pray for these Buddhist people to be open to hearing about Jesus.

Because of the diversity in Belize, we face unique challenges in reaching each group with the Gospel. Right now, we are asking God to give us the right strategies and plans to effectively present the good news to each of these language groups. Some of our services will be translated into Spanish, others will be translated into Mayan.

Nine evangelists are joining together for our outreach to Belize. Over two hundred missionaries will be part of the team. We will be doing nine outreaches simultaneously in nine different population centers. We will be giving away a 40-foot container of food to the children of Belize. We have a team of doctors and nurses who will be offering free medical care. We will give away over 30,000 Bibles. We are hosting a pastor’s conference, a businessperson’s meeting, a women’s conference, children’s fiestas, and youth concerts. The Festival of Hope will be aired on LIVE television across the nation of Belize. Our goal is to saturate the nation of Belize with the Word of God.

For an outreach of this size, we desperately need your prayers. Please pray for each of the different groups of people in Belize. Please be praying that the entire nation of Belize will turn their hearts toward God. Thank you for standing with us in prayer for this historic event.

Asking God for the Nations,

Daniel King

P.S. As you can imagine, an outreach of this size has many expenses. Your financial gift is urgently needed and much appreciated. Your giving this month will allow us to touch the entire nation of Belize. Thank you!

Help Us Give Away 30,000 Bibles

Help Us Give Away 30,000 Bibles

During the Belize Festival of Hope in July, our goal is to saturate the Central American nation of Belize with the Word of God. We expect thousands of people to attend our events that are taking place in eight cities across Belize and we want to put a Bible in the hands of every person who decides to follow Jesus.

As an evangelist, I am frequently asked, “What do you do about follow-up?” I am convinced that the best possible follow-up for someone who just got saved is a personal copy of the Bible.

My father actually became a follower of Jesus after he read through the entire Bible from Genesis to Revelation. It took him four months but ever since he finished he has been faithfully serving God.

So, would you help us put Bibles in the hands of the people of Belize?

Two different ministries have promised to give us Spanish and English Bibles for FREE. But, we need to get these Bibles into Belize. That’s where you come in.

Honestly, it will not cost us much, only pennies per Bible. In order to cover some customs and delivery fees we need about $1,000.

Would be the one who will help us distribute all these Bibles? Your gift of $1,000 could sponsor this entire distribution of Bibles.

The Bible is the best follow-up program there is. God sent His Son for a Season, but He left us the Bible for all of eternity.

Plus, Help Us Give Away Thousands of Discipleship Books
In addition to distributing all the Bibles, we will also be putting together a packet of discipleship materials for the people who get saved. In these packets will be several books that will share the basics of the Christian faith.

Every child that comes to our children’s fest will receive a 32-page booklet that is printed in fun and exciting colors. These booklets explain the Gospel using stories, pictures, and games. These resources are being donated by One Hope, a ministry dedicated to giving away Christian literature around the world.

Plus, Help Us Put Resources in the Hands of Pastors
In addition, another ministry, Christian Resources International, will be donating seminary level books for us to give to local pastors. Because of their generosity, we will be able to give every pastor who is involved with the Festival of Hope a library of useful resources and commentaries that will help them to prepare their sermons.

My Love Language is Books
I love books and I love reading. My library is overflowing with books. When people ask me what I want for Christmas, I always reply, “Books.” Usually, when I give a gift to someone else, I give a book. Of course, my favorite book is the Bible.

So, you can imagine how excited I am to give away 30,000 Bibles, discipleship materials, and thousands of books to both new believers and pastors in the nation of Belize.

We are flooding the nation of Belize with printed literature that will last long after we leave.

Can You Help?
The Bibles, books, and discipleship materials that we plan to give away at the Festival of Hope are being donated to us. I just need your help with some of the custom’s fees that will help us bring these books into the nation of Belize and the cost to store and transport this material to all of our ministry locations.

As I mentioned above, you can sponsor this distribution of Bibles, books, and discipleship material for $1,000. Even if you cannot give the full amount, can you give a portion of the money we need? Thank you!
